The built Peugeot Hurricane in low autumn sun. Turquoise-to-navy fade frame with paint splatter, orange chainring and knobby tyres, standing on gravel scattered with fallen leaves, a meadow and treeline behind.

The story

The Hurricane arrived as a bare frame with the fork taped to the down tube and a bag of bolts that turned out to belong to something else entirely. The fade from turquoise to navy is factory, and the paint splatter is factory too.

It went out with a wide-range drivetrain, an orange chainring that had no business working as well as it does, and enough tyre clearance to stop caring where the tarmac ends.
